In the heart of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology
The lovely university city of Galway on the spectacular Atlantic coast of Ireland. Galway city has about 75,000 inhabitants and this small size means that the city has a friendly atmosphere and is also very safe for students. Galway is famous for its many cultural events, such as the Arts Festival, the Film Festival, the largest horse racing event in Europe, Racing Week and Oyster Festival! Traditional Irish music can be heard all over the city centre at all times and the atmosphere in Galway is what our students love about it. The landscape on the Atlantic coast is breathtaking and visitors to this region regularly describe it as The Real Ireland. Come and see for yourself!

Founder and Director
Mary Grennan founded International House Galway in 2015. She is a Cambridge CELTA and Delta tutor and assessor and an inspector of language and teacher training centres for IH World Organisation, Equals and QQI. Her interests are teacher training and course design.
Martina is Italian and first came to Galway for her Erasmus Year at NUI Galway. She returned to Italy but couldn’t forget Galway and returned here to work with us at IH Galway. She is responsible for enrolments, groups, enquiries and generally most things so she’s the woman to know here!
Katie is both Greek and English and first came to Galway to complete a degree in English and Italian at NUI Galway. Having fallen in love with Galway, Katie decided to take a CELTA at IH Galway and has been teaching with us ever since. She loves sport and she’s addicted to the gym!
A local from Salthill, Galway, Jennie qualified in Nursing from NUI Galway before deciding to change career and move to English Language Teaching. She recently completed a Master’s in Primary Education and has been teaching and designing course materials with IH Galway since 2015.
