  1. Age groups

Adults: 17+

Pre-University Experience: 16-19

Junior Vacation: 11-16


  1. Classes

Each Lesson has a duration of 45 minutes.


  1. Fees

Fees include tuition, student information handbook, Wi-Fi, use of computers, placement test and end of course certificates and reports. Fees do not include external exam fees, lunch (except on residential courses), private insurance and bank charges.

A booking fee of €60 is applicable for all courses.


  1. Airport Transfers

Private driver:

  • €150 each way (Shannon and Knock Airport)
  • €350 each way (Dublin Airport)

Private bus:

  • €30 each way (unaccompanied – over 18s only)
  • €150 each way (compulsory for under 18s – accompanied by an IH member of staff)
  • Groups of 15+: €20 per person each way
  • Taxi from Galway Bus Station to accommodation: €30 each way


  1. IH Galway Calendar

IH Galway will be closed for the following public holidays:

  • Christmas Holidays 2018: Dec 22, 2018 – Jan 6, 2018 (some courses may take place during the holidays, in agreement with the client, teachers and accommodation provider. In this case, there will be no classes on Dec 24-26 and Jan 1)
  • Easter Monday – Monday, April 2
  • May Bank Holiday – Monday, May 7
  • June Bank Holiday – Monday, June 4
  • August Bank Holiday – Monday, August 6
  • October Bank Holiday – Monday, October 29


No classes will be held on these days, there is no reduction in fees when a course includes a public holiday and classes are not made up.


  1. Accommodation

All accommodation bookings made with IH Galway are subject to an accommodation booking fee of €60.


Homestay accommodation is:

  • Based on a 7-night stay beginning from Saturday or Sunday
  • Half-board Monday-Friday and full-board at weekends
  • Located in the suburbs of Galway, within walking distance or by public bus
  • There is a supplement of €35/week for students who require a special diet

Residential accommodation is:

  • Based on a 7-night stay beginning from Saturday or Sunday
  • Self-catering, with no meals included

Accommodation during Christmas:

  • Students can stay with their host families (where the family has agreed) for an extra cost of €50/week
  • Students can stay in the self-catering apartments at no extra charge


  1. Insurance

All students are advised to take out private medical and travel insurance. EU students should travel to Dublin with their European Health Insurance Card (E111) to cover public medical care.


  1. Visas

Non-EU citizens should contact the nearest Irish Embassy or visit the Immigration Service website at www.inis.gov.ie for visa requirements.


  1. Payments

Full payment of fees is due two weeks prior to the start of the course.

  1. Cancellation Policy
  • If a course is cancelled more than 14 days before the course start date, the registration fee of €60 will be charged
  • If a course is cancelled fewer than 14 days before the course start date, one week’s tuition will be charged
  • If homestay accommodation is cancelled fewer than 14 days before arrival date, one week’s accommodation fee will be charged
  • If self-catering accommodation is cancelled fewer than 4 weeks before the arrival date, one week’s accommodation will be charged
  • If hotel accommodation is cancelled, the client is liable for all hotel costs, depending on the individual hotel’s cancellation policy
  • If a cancellation occurs because of a visa refusal, the registration fee of €60 will be charged. In this case, the refund of the fees will be processed when the official letter of refusal from Immigration is sent to IH Galway
  • Please note that all cancellations must be submitted in writing by letter or email to IH Galway


  1. Refunds

No refunds can be made after a course has started. In the case of illness, students may ask for their course to be postponed to a later date. In this case, the school will require a medical certificate.

A course cannot be carried over to the next calendar year.

Courses are not-transferable.
