Transportation in Galway primarily consists of buses. There are three bus options.
Bus Éireann has up to 7 different routes that cover various areas of Galway. With Adult tickets running at €2.30, students can avail of the buses by simply following the timetables. International House Galway also provides special international students tickets that run for the duration of the stay of the student.

City Direct is an award winning private public transport company that was established in 1999. City Direct provide scheduled bus services on the west side of Galway city. The areas City Direct service include Knocknacarra, Rahoon, Salthill, Cappagh, Ballymoneen, Westside and the City Centre. They currently operate 4 routes within Galway City. With student tickets running at €1.50, International House Galway also provides special international students tickets that run for the duration of the stay of the student.
